Northern Taraba Traditional Rulers Throw Weight Behind Peace Bureau, Commend Gov. Kefas’ Peace Strategy

Traditional rulers across Taraba State’s Northern Senatorial Zone have reaffirmed their support for the Taraba State Bureau for Peace and Conflict Management (TSBPCM), commending Governor Agbu Kefas for establishing a framework aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability across the state.

The royal fathers gave the endorsement during the Bureau’s ongoing peace sensitisation tour of Yorro, Zing, Lau and Ardo Kola Local Government Areas, led by the Director-General of the Bureau, Bishop Innocent Rubiruka Solomon.
Speaking at various engagements, the traditional rulers unanimously welcomed the establishment of the Bureau, describing it as a timely intervention capable of strengthening peaceful coexistence among communities and addressing the root causes of conflict in the state.
They expressed optimism that the Bureau’s activities would contribute significantly to restoring harmony in communities, creating an enabling environment for accelerated development and socio-economic progress throughout Taraba State.
The traditional leaders also called for increased collaboration between the Bureau and traditional institutions, urging the TSBPCM to intensify capacity-building programmes for traditional rulers and community leaders.
According to them, equipping traditional institutions with conflict prevention and peacebuilding skills will further consolidate peace at the grassroots level.
Leading the commendations were the Kpanti Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo; the Kpang Sanwi, Pastor Dr. Haniel Henlewheni Banti; the Kur Bakula, Tahir Nyawo; alongside several district heads, village heads and Jauros from across the zone.
The traditional rulers pledged their continued support for the Bureau’s peacebuilding initiatives and reiterated their commitment to partnering with the state government to sustain peace, unity and development across Taraba State.
