6 Brigade, NUJ Taraba Strengthen Ties,Pledge Sustained Collaboration

In a gesture underscoring the importance of media-military synergy, the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, led by Brigadier General Chuckwuemeka Micheal Akaliro today,paid a courtesy visit to the Taraba State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

    The high-profile meeting which had in attendance ,media Eggheads and top officials of the 6 Brigade,highlighted mutual commitments to security,progress and transparency.

    Earlier in his remarks,Brigadier General Akaliro lauded the NUJ for its pivotal role in amplifying the Brigade’s activities and fostering public trust.

    “I am delighted to be here today in your Council.This engagement is not just symbolic,it is strategic because the Brigade understands the role the media play in our partnership in the pursuance of peace, security and national development.

    “Upon assumption of duty,we began to look out for institutions that are undespensable in our quest to achieve total peace and security in Taraba State and the NUJ stood out as a partner that needs to be aligned with,”he said.

    He emphasized the Brigade’s resolve to sustain robust collaboration with journalists to ensure accurate/balanced reporting and security. He further assured the union of open communication channels to facilitate joint efforts in community development.

    “I promised that our relationship will be anchored on transparency,mutual respect and information sharing. I believe that this will not only enhance our effectiveness but it will also foster public trust in our collective efforts in the State,”he stated.

    The NUJ Chairman Taraba State Council, Comrade Matthew Eliud Jen appreciated the Brigade’s Commander for the visit, describing it as a testament to shared goals.

    He pledged the union’s readiness to uphold ethical journalism while supporting the Brigade’s operations and activities across Taraba.

    “We are in the same shoes with you; wherever you go for progress, we shall walk alongside you,”he declared.

    Highlights of the event included presentation of award and copies of Worldview Magazine.
