Bauchi Governor Distributes Vehicles to Emirs, District Heads to Boost Grassroots Governance.

Governor Bala Mohammed has distributed official vehicles to 14 newly appointed emirs and 114 district heads in Bauchi State, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots administration and enhancing the performance of traditional institutions.

The presentation ceremony, held at the Government House in Bauchi, highlighted the state government’s commitment to equipping traditional rulers with the tools needed to improve service delivery and deepen engagement with local communities.
Speaking at the event, Bala Mohammed described traditional rulers as critical partners in governance, noting their role in maintaining peace, promoting unity, and facilitating development at the grassroots. He said the provision of vehicles would significantly improve their mobility and responsiveness to the needs of their people.
According to the governor, each of the 14 emirs received a combination of GMC SUVs, Toyota buses, and Mitsubishi pick-up trucks to support official engagements and community outreach. In addition, the 114 district heads were each presented with a Toyota Camry to aid their administrative responsibilities.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles judiciously and remain committed to integrity, harmony, and collaboration with government in advancing sustainable development across the state.
The initiative is part of the administration’s broader efforts to reinforce traditional governance structures and ensure closer coordination between authorities and communities in Bauchi State.
