Signalling a potential shake-up in party dynamics, the governor revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa is considering direct primaries, a move that could transfer power from party elites straight to the grassroots.

Amid rising political tension, the governor issued a firm call for rancour-free congresses, warning that disunity could weaken the party ahead of the crucial elections.
From ward to state level, he stressed that discipline, unity, and credibility must guide the process.
Fintiri’s declaration came during a closed-door, high-powered stakeholders’ meeting on Thursday which stretched through mid-night at the Government House in Yola, where party heavyweights and governorship hopefuls gathered for what insiders describe as a defining moment for Adamawa’s political future.
