Taraba APC inaugurates reconciliation committee ahead of 2027

In a decisive move to strengthen party cohesion and reposition the All Progressives Congress (APC) for an outing in the 2027 general elections, the Taraba State Chapter of the APC has inaugurated a Peace Committee and charged its members with the responsibility of healing internal divisions arising from the last party primaries.

    The committee, made up of seasoned political leaders drawn from the Northern, Central and Southern Senatorial Zones of Taraba State, was formally inaugurated on Monday, August 11, 2026, at the party’s State Secretariat in Jalingo by the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa.

    Addressing the committee shortly after its inauguration, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa declared that the APC leadership remains resolute in its determination to enthrone enduring peace, discipline and political solidarity within the party.

    He disclosed that the committee members emerged through extensive consultations across the three senatorial zones and received the approval of the party’s leadership in the state.

    According to Bawa, the committee has been entrusted with a strategic mandate to reconcile aggrieved members, resolve lingering disputes and embark on broad-based consultations aimed at reclaiming estranged party faithful and consolidating the APC’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 electoral battle.

    The APC chairman emphasized that the assignment is not merely an administrative exercise but a political mission designed to restore confidence in the party, deepen internal democracy and position the APC as the most credible and formidable political force in Taraba State.

    Speaking on behalf of the committee, Senator Sani Danladi expressed profound appreciation to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in them and assured members that the committee would discharge its responsibility with patriotism, fairness and unwavering commitment to the collective interest of the APC.

    He pledged that the committee would work assiduously to foster reconciliation across all levels of the party and build a united political front capable of delivering victory for the APC in future elections.

    Political observers believe that the inauguration of the reconciliation committee signals the APC’s determination to close ranks, strengthen its internal machinery and present a united and formidable platform as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
