Fintiri Tasks New Commissioners on Accountability.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has charged newly appointed commissioners in Adamawa State to uphold accountability and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.

The governor gave the directive on Wednesday during the swearing-in of three commissioners and a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission at the Council Chambers of the Government House, following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly on March 9, 2026.
The appointees are Sali Idris, Engr. Muhammed Suleiman, and Chubado Mohammed, alongside Iliya Gaji, who joins the electoral body.
Fintiri said their appointments were based on merit, integrity, and proven commitment to service, expressing confidence in their capacity to deliver.
He urged them to bring fresh ideas, embrace innovation, and work in synergy with the executive council to advance inclusive governance and sustainable development.
He also called on Gaji to ensure credible and transparent local government elections in collaboration with other members of the commission.
The governor assigned portfolios to the commissioners, Idris (Livestock), Suleiman (Works), and Mohammed (Energy).
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Chubado Mohammed pledged loyalty and dedication to the administration’s agenda.
The oath of office was administered by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Afaimu Jingi.
