Barr. Sani declares Reps bid, cites incumbent’s disconnection from constituents

In a bold political move, the immediate past Special Adviser to Gov Agbu Kefas on Legal Matters Barr. Sani Marke has officially announced his ambition to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ardo-Kola, Karim-Lamido, and Lau Federal Constituency.
His declaration, made in an exclusive interview with Worldview Magazine in Jalingo, directly criticized the incumbent House of Reps Member, Hon. Mohammed Audu Lauya, for what he termed a total disconnect from the needs of the constituency.
“If the current Member is doing what we sent him to do, I wouldn’t have stepped forward to contest but there is a total disconnect between him and our people,” he said.
The legal luminary stressed that the people of Karim-Lamido have suffered varying degrees of insecurity orchestrated by bandits and cattle rustlers which has impoverished the people to a large extent yet, no word is heard from the Honorable Member, adding that the burden of tackling insecurity has been left in the hands of the State Government.
“Recently in Karim Local Government, about 40 people lost their lives in one day and we’re buried in a common ground. This was a national disaster, but not even a minute silent was requested from the National Assembly by our member.
“He has nothing to show all this while. I challenge him to bring his scorecard and if he has something tangible, I will ask my people to let him continue,” He laments.
He assured his Constituents that he is not intending to go there and watch people but present issues that concern them and also speak for them until the Government hears and act accordingly.
Recall that, Barr. Sani Marke recently resigned his position as Special Adviser to Gov Agbu Kefas on Legal Matters following His Excellency’s directive mandating all appointees willing to contest in the 2027 general Elections to resign from their positions.
